L'industria turistica inglese soffre di gravi problemi a causa dell'afta epizootica. Lo dice Robin Aitken della BBC, che parla di una sorta di aiuti e agevolazioni come quelle che gli allevatori hanno già ottenuto dal governo. C'è una sensazione diffusa che l'industria turistica inglese stia già soffrendo in modo preoccupante del calo della mobilità delle persone.

Quasi un quarto dell'industria turistica inglese si basa infatti sull'agriturismo. Andare a cavallo o in barca nelle zone agricole è un modo di fare turismo molto diffuso in gran bretagna. Le zone maggiormente colpite sono il Cumberland e il Devon, perchè anche nelle zone dove non c'è stato alcun caso di infezione la gente sta ben lontano.

La ferrovia Dartmoor di Okehampton nel Devon, è una tipica attività orientata al turismo che è stata colpita duramente.
